I have set about to visit a National Park Service property in every state. I decided to start this quest for several reasons. I love to travel, and have always taken one "big" trip with my kids every year as they were growing up. Now that they are all out of the house, it seems to be a bit more difficult to get everyone together to do a nice trip. I miss it. I also love the outdoors, and history, and continual learning. I have always enjoyed going to the National Parks.

After my kids went off to college, it was more difficult for all of us to get together for a trip. I found myself going to their schools on vacation, and not seeing new places as often as I like to. Eventually, I decided that I would start to National Parks, regardless of if anyone would be going along with me or not.

I started this blog as a way to document my trips, and to keep track of where I have been and the experiences I have.
