Utah - Bryce Canyon National Park

Angee, Matt and I are staying in Kanab, Utah for a few days, and hiking wherever we find a good hike. On this day, we wake up to COLD rain!! It was about 32 degrees, cloudy, and basically pretty miserable. We decide to head north to Bryce Canyon National Park anyway. Along the way, it rained, then snowed a bit, then slushed, then rained. Not a good sign.

Once we got to the park, my intention was to purchase an annual park pass, but apparently the credit card machine was not working at the gate, and the ranger took pity on us coming on such a messy day, so he let us in without paying. I purchased an annual park pass the next day, so all is right in the world.

We started at the VIsitors Center, to see what hikes would be available and safe on such a day, and we were directed to Sunset Point, and the Navaho Loop Trail. The rain was still coming down, maybe it was snow...??? So, we drove to the parking lot, and sat in the car and had a snack while we bundled up. Slowly, we realized that the sun was coming out, so we decided to check out the rim. OMG.

So, we set out on the hike, and it was MUDDY, and windy and cold!!! There was a ton of mud stuck to our boots, but it was so beautiful. We walked down the canyon and it was raining on and off. We got to the bottom, turned around and came back up. It was a tough slog up the canyon, but it was nice - and we had rainbows on and off the whole time.
