Wyoming - Yellowstone National Park and Shoshone National Forest

After being in beautiful Grand Teton National Park, Angee Matt and I went north into Yellowstone. Its amazing that the scenery can change so much in only a few short hours on the road. Yellowstone doesn't have the mountains, but is has the geothermals. Before we got to see the geothermals, we ran into a section of roadway with a TON of cars, and a bunch of people out taking photos - of a MOMMA GRIZZLY and TWO cubs! It was so cool! The bears were pretty far from the side of the road, and the people were taking photos but not going close. There was a ranger there, making sure noone did anything stupid, but it seemed that noone had any intention to.

After seeing the bears, we also ran into a LOT of buffalo. They were everywhere!

Finally, we got to Old Faithful and went to the viewing place. There were hundreds of people there, and we sat down. The people were talking that the geyser hadn't gone off for 2 hours, so it should happen at any time. People had been waiting for a LONG time for this. Within 5 minutes, the Old Faithful did her thing, and we were on our way. I'm not sure I would have waited as long as these people did.

We drove north, and through the park, exiting out the east side. We found a campsite east of the park, along the Shoshone River in the Shoshone National Forest. There was a nice spot for tents at the campsite, but Angee wanted her tent a little off the main site, and was having a difficult time finding a spot without Buffalo skat on it... the skat was everywhere!

It was a beautiful night, and Angee tried to take photos of the sky. I haven't seen her photos yet - I'm sure they are cool!
