California - Mohave Desert National Preserve

So, we decided to cut through the Mohave Desert on the way back to Las Vegas from Joshua Tree.   I’m not sure that is always such a great idea, but that is what we did.  There isn’t too much there!!   We stopped at a few places along the way, including a site that apparently was on the old Route 66.   Unfortunately for us, one of the times we stopped, we lost cell connection, and no longer had directions to Vegas.   There are only a few roads, so we guessed correctly at the turns, but it was a bit nerve wracking for a bit.   We had enough gas and all but were not too interested in getting lost in the desert!
