New York - Harriet Tubman National Historic Landmark

Writer's picture: MTNestWandererMTNestWanderer

When I stopped at this National Historic Park, it was closed, but I walked around the site and read through the various informational plaques that were around the property. Harriet Tubman was an incredible woman that helped many people escape slavery and the oppression in the south to find a new life in the north. More can be learned about Harriet Tubman at the NPS website

In downtown Auburn, there is another site, called the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center. In their courtyard, there is a large statue commemorating Harriet Tubman.
