Puerto Rico - San Juan National Historic Site

The Punto del Morro is the main attraction of the San Juan National Historic Site, and is impressive in its location and size. The original fort was much smaller, but parts of it are still here, and date to the 1500's.

We explored the fort, and took in the views and historic information that is located on the plaques all over the property. We took it slow, because we were not used to the island heat! Its a cool spot, and the lawn was used by locals for kite flying and picnics. Overall, a very pleasant place, regardless of the centuries of history of wars, fighting and killings.
